The Original Rain Jacket Essential goes back to an award-winning 1976 design. A 5,000 mm water column, fully taped seams and double YKK zippers keep the rain out and get you there dry. The cuffs close off completely at the wrist against water and win
The rain jacket you pull on to ride to work or nip to the supermarket. Waterproof, breathable and compact enough to live in your bag all year round.
The Original Rain Jacket Essential is based on a 1976 design that won an award in a competition held by the Dutch Ministry of Transport and Water Management. The look has stayed; the technology has moved on since.
Made from 100% recycled polyester and therefore part of agu's Greensphere label.
Underneath the matte outer fabric sits a membrane with a 5,000 mm water column: the fabric holds back five metres of water pressure before moisture gets through. Enough for an average shower and your daily commute.
The membrane is breathable, so water vapour escapes and you don't end up wet from the inside.
All seams are taped and the jacket closes with double YKK zippers, so water can't find a way in.
The front of the sleeves is cut longer to keep your hands covered on the bars. At the wrist, the cuff closes off completely against water and wind.
Reflective elements make you visible in the dark.
The hood is detachable, so you can wear the jacket before the rain starts too.
The jacket folds down small and comes with a storage pouch with a wrist strap.
One of the most-used rain jackets on Dutch cycle paths for years now. Waterproof, practical and built for everyday use.
