The Original Rain Pants Essential are based on a 1976 design that won an award in a competition held by the Dutch Ministry of Transport and Water Management. The look has stayed; the technology has moved on since.
Made from 100% recycled polyester and therefore part of agu's Greensphere label.
Underneath the matte outer fabric sits a membrane with a 5,000 mm water column: the fabric holds back five metres of water pressure before moisture gets through. Enough for an average shower and your daily commute.
The membrane is breathable, so water vapour escapes and your legs don't turn clammy underneath.
All seams are taped, so no water gets in through the stitch holes.
The front of the legs is cut longer, so the pants fall well over your shoe. Snap buttons pull the leg tight around it.
Reflective elements make you visible in the dark.
The pants fold down small and come with a storage pouch with a wrist strap.
