CYCLING IN WINTER? DRESS WARMLY!

Slowly but surely winter is coming - and with it short, dark days and above all very low temperatures. Especially early in the morning and in the evening us cyclists often have to struggle with icy cold and biting wind. With the right AGU Winter products you can enjoy your rides to the fullest even in the cold season.

#1 A WARM CYCLING JACKET IS THE KEY

For the coldest days of the year you should definitely wear a well insulated jacket when riding the bike. If you get warm quickly while riding, the breathable Winter Thermo Jacket is perfect for you. It is a basic winter jacket - without being basic! The comfortable lining keeps you warm, while the outer layer protects you from wind and rain.

The Polartec Alpha winter jacket is developed for Team Jumbo-Visma. It features a Polartec Alpha lining. Polartec Alpha was first engineered for the U.S. military. Designed for start-stop combat, the soft, fleecy material retains just the right amount of body heat and is very breathable, so you can maintain a comfortable body temperature in drastically changing conditions. The fabric is extremely lightweight and compressible and does not retain moisture.

Are you looking for a compact, warm and nice looking jacket with which you can turn any rain jacket into a warm winter jacket? Wear the AGU Fuse jacket is a real all-rounder which you can wear on its own or underneath a raincoat.

You like it extra warm and cuddly?

Then the Heated Thermo Jacket LED is your choice. This heatable jacket is an absolute highlight of our winter collection. The jacket is equipped with integrated heat panels, which can be adjusted with 3 temperature settings - perfect for breaks or cold days apart from your bike! The LED light on the back provides additional visibility.

#2 GOODBYE COLD HANDS AND FEET

One thing most people aren’t aware of: Our body loses most of our warmth through our hands and feet! That makes it even more important to keep them warm at all times so that they do not cool us down when cycling.

The best way to protect your hands from icy temperatures is to wear our AGU Merino Knit Gloves. The gloves are waterproof and have a nice and warm merino wool lining.

Protect your feet with suitable overshoes! For extra cold days we recommend our AGU toe warmer.

#3 AND WHAT DO I WEAR UNDER MY JACKET?

A comfortable and warm baselayer, such as the AGU Winterday Baselayer. is a perfect option for underneath. It is temperature regulating, breathable and very pleasant on the skin. Thanks to the Polygiene Fresh technology, there are no unpleasant odors even during strenuous rides.

More useful tips for cycling in the cold:

  • Be sure to equip yourself and your bike with reflectors and enough light, because in winter it gets dark early and the days are often not bright enough.
  • Protect your head and neck from the freezing cold: For example with the HIVIS helmet cap and the Primaloft fleece scarf, which keep your head and neck perfectly warm.
  • Protective AGU sunglasses protect the eyes in winter against the icy wind.
