THE AGU BIKEPACKING COLLECTION: HOW TO STORE THINGS PROPERLY ON YOU BIKE

How do you store all your luggage properly on your bike? In this blog post we show you which bike bags are useful, where to stow what and how to balance the weight so you can enjoy your ride. Let's get started!

WHAT TYPE OF BIKE IS SUITABLE FOR BIKEPACKING?

Good news: Our AGU bike bags are manufactured in a way that they fit almost all bicycles. So you don't have to buy a new bike to be able to travel with it. It only depends on what you want to do - after all, it's all about having fun on your trip.

Here are the advantages of the different types of bikes:

  • With a racing bike you travel relatively light. This means you can cover longer distances easily and comfortably.
  • Travelling by gravel bike is a thing for real adventurers: it's not about taking the shortest or easiest way. If you love the off-road adventure, travelling by gravel bike is your perfect option.
  • Mountain bikes are great for exploring unpaved routes. The great thing about it: You often end up in finding unexpected single tracks.

WHICH BIKE BAGS DO I NEED?

The bikepacking starter pack consists of a frame bag, a saddle bag and a handlebar bag.

A complete bikepacking set consists of the following five bags: snack pack, saddle bag, top tube frame bag, handlebar bag and frame bag, which is available in three different sizes. However, countless combinations are possible. Sounds like a lot of bulky stuff to you? Don't worry: All AGU bike bags can easily be attached to the frame, handlebars and saddle of all types of bicycles - for example on your road bike, gravel bike or mountain bike. With our new AGU bike packing products, your bike trip will remain super comfortable and easy, even when bringing a lot of luggage! We show you how to pack the smartest way: With our AGU Venture bike bags.

Next to our AGU Venture bike bag collection, we also have the AGU Hi-Vis Venture line: the same bags, but with an added reflective outer layer fabric for higher visibility!

#1 SADDLE BAG

#2 TOP TUBE

#3 SNACK PACK

Venture Snack Pack: Products you want to be able to access while riding. For example bars, nuts, chips or an extra bottle – always within reach and easy to open with one hand.

#4 HANDLE BAR BAG

Venture handle bar bag: For (bigger) things that you only need at the end of the day, such as sleeping equipment, sleeping bag, air mattress, or tent.

#5 TUBE FRAME BAG

Venture Tube Frame bag: For small things that may be useful during the day, such as snacks, repairing tools and spare tyres.

And this is how the whole venture set could look on your bike:

  • Bikepacking - especially with our AGU bike bags - is probably the most environmentally friendly and sustainable way to spend your holiday. Not only because you avoid all kinds of engines and therefore exhaust fumes. All AGU bike packing bags are made of recycled Greensphere Polyester, which is produced from recycled PET bottles.
  • All AGU bike bags have extra reflectors for an improved visibility, even if you prefer to ride on quieter, less busy roads.
  • AGU bike bags are all waterproof so that your luggage stays dry and well protected from a short spell of rain.
  • The bags should fit tight without “flapping”: Our AGU bike bags have straps that can be optimally attached to the desired location using modular mounting systems.
  • Please always make sure to distribute the weight as evenly as possible. Optimal are about 30 percent in the front (on a lowrider luggage rack) and 70 percent on the rear luggage rack. The centre of gravity should be as low as possible: hang panniers as low as possible.

So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and enjoy the ride!
